A Flutter app for a skydiving dropzone, with flights, weather conditions and an animated entry set in a moving sky. In development.
The project
An app for iOS and Android aimed at people who jump and people who want to jump for the first time. It shows conditions at the dropzone, upcoming flights with filters for altitude and availability, information about the company and its team, location with a map, and job openings.
The project started in 2023 with an initial team and documentation written as a software development report. It has been picked up several times since. The most recent work is the entry: splash, onboarding and authentication share one animated sky scene, and the app can be browsed as a guest.
It is not published yet. Authentication and flights depend on an API that has to be supplied at build time, and the Android build is still signed with the debug key.
Visual direction.
Material 3 with customised components, in blue tones and with Poppins across the app. There are light and dark themes, and the home screen background images adapt to the theme. The entry uses an illustrated sky scene, with quality levels for slower devices.

Under the hood.

Code is organised by feature (flights, dropzone, authentication, profile and others) over a shared core, with state management in BLoC and Provider.

No secret is committed to the repository. The OpenWeather and Google Maps keys and the API address are supplied at build time, and the app builds and runs without them.

Without a weather key, the conditions card shows a localised unavailable message instead of made-up data.

Authentication data is kept in the device's secure storage and onboarding completion is saved locally.

Tests cover the entry flow, the animated scene controller, authentication, weather, the flight repository and asset existence.
