The project
The official website of Madeiran singer and songwriter Miro Freitas. It is a single page meant to be scrolled in one go: a hero with the album "Origem" and the 2026 tour, then biography, music, dates, gallery and contact.
The music section shows releases with cover art and links to Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube. The tour lists confirmed dates in Portugal and among communities abroad, from Canada to South Africa. Releases, dates, gallery and contacts are edited in a single configuration file, without touching the views.
Portuguese is the default language, with English and Spanish versions. The maintenance page is part of the project: it carries all three languages, the booking email and the official links, so a visitor always has somewhere to go.

Visual direction.
A dark stage. Near-black background, warm white text and an ember orange as the only strong colour. Playfair Display gives headlines and the artist's name an editorial tone, and Inter handles body copy. Motion follows the scroll: a progress bar, reveals, parallax and a hero portrait that reacts to the pointer.

Under the hood.

Presentation, editorial data and request logic are kept apart: configuration for content, language files for copy and isolated Blade sections for markup.

CSS and JavaScript are hand-written and served directly, with no frontend framework.

A middleware picks the locale from the URL prefix, including on 404 pages. The browser language is deliberately ignored, so Portuguese is always the default.

The site runs on Laravel Cloud. Because Laravel's maintenance command does not work with instances that are replaced on every deploy, maintenance mode is driven by an environment variable and a dedicated middleware, with a Retry-After header and a secret bypass.

Tests cover the pages, localisation, tour dates, media files and security headers.
